As a former Public Defender, Jacob D. Zamora has represented accused,
including indigent defendants, in all aspects of criminal law, including at
trial, on vehicular homicide, attempted murder, aggravated mayhem, kidnaping,
assault with a deadly weapon with GBI enhancement, domestic violence, drug
offenses, sexual offenders, theft, robbery, gun possession charges, DUI,
contempt actions, and expungements. Mr. Zamora has drafted and argued motions
to suppress, Pitchess motions, in limine motions, motions to dismiss,
sentencing memorandums, Romero motions, motions to withdraw guilty pleas and
motions to correct custody credits. Mr. Zamora has prepared and argued
Petitions for Writ of Habeas Corpus. Mr. Zamora has represented individuals
in defending and prosecuting contempt actions and restraining orders in the
family courts. Mr. Zamora has represented clients in complex state and
federal civil litigation, including personal injury, Multi-Species
Conservation Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, breach of contract, fraud,
fraudulent transfer, intentional infliction of emotional distress,
conversion, patent, trademark and copyright infringement actions. Mr. Zamora
has also represented clients on appeal in the Fourth District Court of
Appeal, Division One, and the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth
Circuit.
TRIALS - ARBITRATIONS - PRELIMINARY HEARINGS - MOTIONS
Mr. Zamora has a wide range of trial experience, including a number of felony
"strike" case. In addition to his criminal trial experience, Mr. Zamora has a
variety of civil and family law trial and arbitration experience. Mr. Zamora
has handled six family law bench trials, a complex real estate real estate
fraud civil bench trial, numerous civil settlement conferences and he has
completed three arbitrations. Mr. Zamora also has extensive experience in
handling preliminary hearings and motions to suppress evidence.
MILITARY EXPERIENCE
Mr. Zamora was a United States Navy Aircrewman and was responsible
for coordinating tactical missions on suspected enemy submarines and surface
ships. He also supervised and trained flight crew members. Mr. Zamora was
awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, the Navy Good Conduct Medal, the National
Defense Service Medal, and the Southwest Asia Service Medal for his service
during Operation Desert Storm.
